About
The Cycling Without Age Movement began in Copenhagen in 2012. Today, there are 3,500 chapters in over 50 countries, giving rides to millions on 6,000 trishaws.
Through the efforts of John Seigel-Boettner, we now have Cycling Without Age chapters in Santa Barbara, Ventura and Carpinteria.
The Cycling Without Age movement has five guiding principles:
Generosity...We start with the generosity of our trained pilots, who volunteer their time to take seniors and the mobility-impaired on neighborhood trishaw rides.
Slowness... We slow the world down to experience nature and our community. As we ride, we stop, we meet our neighbors, and we take in the sights and sounds of Carp.
Storytelling...We encourage our passengers to share their stories, to relive their experiences, and to create new ones.
Relationships...Cycling Without Age is about creating new relationships between generations, among older adults, and between pilots and passengers, care home employees and family members.

Book a ride!
Experience a trishaw ride with us. All rides are free to the community and can be schedule at convenient times and at most locations in Carp.
Become a pilot!
Volunteers (pilots) sign up for bike rides as often or as rarely as they want. It’s all driven by motiviation and positive experiences.
